He also is chair and CEO of BWOC, Inc.; and chair, president, and owner of Somerset Energy, Inc., and Midland Security Trust Company. Since1970, Barnes helped found more than a dozen companies, including Carterfone Communications Corporation, U.S. Telephone Inc., (subsequently renamed Sprint by United Telephone), International Telecharge, Inc., and Somerset Energy, Inc. Three of the companies he helped create have exceeded market values of $100 million. In 2001, John founded B&R Energy as his "personal wealth transfer system" to the next generation of Barnes. Robert W. “Bill” BarnesRobert W. “Bill” Barnes, 42, is managing director and president of B&R Energy LLC. He is also a director of BWOC, Inc.. Bill was a registered representative with Charles Schwab from March '93 through November 2004, where he helped start up e.Schwab--Schwab’s electronic online trading product. His numerous other corporate projects addressed usability and risk concerns with the electronic products and their risk-management. Bill graduated from Southern Methodist University with a B.A. in psychology and earned his masters in international management from Thunderbird, the Garvin School of International Management. Brandy G. BarnesBrandy G. Barnes, 39, is a managing director and executive vice president of B&R Energy and a director of BWOC since October 2006; she has been an owner of B&R since its inception. At J.C. Penney Co. from 2001-‘04, Brandy oversaw design and development of $300 million per year of product lines. From 2000-’01, with Coach, Inc., she led the group that designed and implemented a computer-based product development, design, and manufacturing system. From 1997-‘00, with the Lerner New York division of Limited Corp., she created and managed product that produced $350 million in annual revenue. From 1994-‘95 she was HR and special project manager for Brinks, Inc., North American division. From 1991-‘94 she was project manager for Barnes Enterprises. Brandy’s bachelor’s degree in International Studies is from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where she also played on the NCAA championship Women’s Soccer team. Brandy also holds a bachelor’s degree from Parsons School of Design.
